2013 May 3rd

Wow, now I really fell in. I knew I had a place that wasn't tumblr that I had been using. I shout out to Kelly W https://plus.google.com/u/0/102035781393888589156 (Since I don't know how to actually link people on here. Sorry. Well I had gotten the job drawing caricatures at the local zoo. It was summer only the first year, and then summer and Christmas season in 11 and 12. I found out a couple of months ago though that the zoo did not renew with the company I work for, so that means my job went poof. I refuse to work for the zoo without a filter for artists, it actually doesn't make sense to make it an hourly job, because we can't guarantee people will be in those chair every hour on the hour. So, I am back down to one seasonal job, Halloweekends. This year will be my 5th year in a row I've worked there. Looking forward to it as usual, though I don't want to skip summer, even if it's uncomfortable, I have a few conventions coming up and a lot of time for me to work on things. Jan I got a year older. But I also got on a schedule for art. Once that happened I found that I could really get things done, hammering out often 2-3 pieces a day. I had one of the best birthdays I've had in years. It was very nice. But this is also about the time that my best friend had to deal with some family troubles, I haven't gotten to speak to them much since then. I miss them a lot. Feb I hit up Bashcon for a day, it was nice to see a bunch of friends and vendors (who are also friends or acquaintances). I had to draw off some whole sale buttons I made for my friend to sell. I hope that he'll be contacting me again soon for more. Though, actually hoping in June. Also saw an Ex of mine, I said hello, not much else. I still...have issues with him. I think I probably always will, due to the circumstances. Mar I was crunching down harder to get my comic King of the Web done and also getting ready for my first selling convention of the year. April I attended Shutocon, it was a blast, it was so nice to be around friends most of the time, though it made it harder to leave, at least for me. Sales were also up from last year. Yay~ Though I think I had pushed myself to the limit as right after the con I broke down sick for two weeks. I even tried to continue to work through it, that brought on a fever one of the days. I should have rested a lot more. But art...it is my passion most of the time. Now I'm waiting for the comic to be printed. I'll have two for Animazement to sell. Hopefully, I'll have something closer to 10 or so for Colossalcon. We'll just have to wait and see. It's really nice to actually feel like things are coming together. I hope I can prove it to everyone that I can make it...but more importantly myself.

Colossalcon

The weekend photos

Star Ocean's Aston, not a character that is seen very often anymore.

Aurora! Then she came back a little later as...

My Princess~ *bows to* Sadly she forgot to cosplay on Sat.

TF2 Medic is healing. TennaD this one is for you~

Genma? He was slapping girl's behind.

Sis's friend and her group.

Because I couldn't find any SM people to cosplay with. ;____;.

I actually really like this one, especially the hair and I really am in need of a new wig.

"copying" Vol3 of the Stars LD cover, sadly it didn't really work for the like 5-6 times I tried.

Then Eternal Mercury stopped by and I said that she needed to at least get Uranus back down for a mini photo shoot. She was cute.

Not only did I get Eternal Uranus but Eternal Chibimoon too! They were both really sweet and we had a blast...if you can't tell by this shoot.

You're the daughter of Usagi, I will hit on you too~

What you doin', Seiya?

Let's arm wrestle to the death!

Vana White-ing Muerte banner...but wait

Love those nipslsh~

Get down-

-let's boogy~

I'm going to pose for you~

We're off to see the wizard...or a kick line.

FIGHT!

Who won? That the world may never know. Regardless it was way too much fun for its own good.

Almost a full moon.

I FOUND THE WINNEBAGO!!!! How awesome is that? *laughs*

Well that's what I've got, enjoy~

Colossalcon DAY 3:

I officially figured out how to take credit cards through paypal. This is going to be very helpful to me. As long as I can get power and Net for PP I can take CC at a con. How cool is that. I need to make a little sign I can stick on my comp or the table. I think I'm going to take a photo of this table as well so people can see the layout I have right now. I like the grid work, at least until I start selling more shirt designs, then I think I'm going to do the design I saw at Az where they actually arched it over their table. *nods nods*

I would have continued to edit yesterdays, but as the day went on I got more and more busy. Um...wha? That never happens, it usually does the opposite. I also got an OC commission, that lady I talked about yesterday brought her daughter over who was just a gem! She wanted her Naruto OC done and since it's not cannon I was like why yes of course I'd love to! She did her best to describe her to me and I got to work on the sketch. She got back she loved it, but then came back a couple minutes later remembering that her bangs covered over one eye, after that she was like yes. She was so timid but I'm glad I channeled her to do this. That is going to need to be the first thing I finish when I get home because I have a feeling if I don't her mah would be on my behind which is fine, I just really don't want to tick off a potential future customer that doesn't know that sometimes I get slow.

Oh so I was talking to two girls and a guy last night and then stared at the guy he was from FF, but I was like wait...were you at Ycon and he was like yes, I was like OMFG I'm still working on your commission! But I didn't give him the original lineart because I had it on me and I haven't seen him again since, I'm praying he stops by, it will be just one less thing on my person. I also did a mini shoot with a Uranus and Chibimoon was which oober fun, I got beat up. Photos to come possibly as soon as this evening. I love being closer to home. I can be home in about an hour and a half. Yay!

Made a few sales today, we'll see if I get a couple more before the day is through, I did want to go back in the dealer's room and say good buy to everyone. I don't know if anyone is going to stop by that I can ask to watch the table for a few while I wander around to say goodbye to. And I think that's all the fun stuff. Until later.

Colossalcon DAY 2

Yay, I got sleep, not the best sleep, I kept getting too warm, but it was in a bed with a pillow and it had to be 4+ hours of sleep. I got a very late dinner with George at BWW, I got a wrap, it was rather delicious. XD;;; The best part about that was ha ha around last call (yes we were there that late) they started playing KNOTB...SERIOUSLY! My inner fan couldn't help but get into it. *laughs* I also got an Amaretto Sour YUM!

Over all if I made anything close to what I made yesterday I'll be in good shape. I don't know if it's too early right now or what, but there are people...no one is buying. Maybe they are waiting for the dealer's room. It's quite possible. XD;;; I don't want to get my hopes up, but it would definitely be a nice surprise.

Oh! And another piece related to last post, I did find the metal tin...I packed it so well even it took me awhile to find. *laughs* I feel so dumb but at the same time relieved. I need to make a new Saturn button, but after that I'm good for anything. Until later.

[EDIT 1]: 11:09am there is a Genma as the Panda (pretty positive) in front of my table, he keeps slapping girls behinds. Also no sales yet. Poo, but at least I have my music and I'm working on Main episode 2 of my SMfic of Doom since episode 209 I didn't send to this computer.

[EDIT 2]: 1:21pm a lady who definitely was old enough to have kids totally stopped at my table seeing my will draw your Original characer and was like, who much do you charge to draw their OCs...OCs! She didn't say it fully, me thinks this lady knows her stuff. HAZZAH! On top of that I sold two matted prints of Tenshi, more rejoicing. One was one I thought would have gone sooner, but I'm glad it found a good home. Besides that it's been pretty slow though I've talked to some people that know who I am and those that were curious about art table advice. I love giving advice when people are really interested in learning.

Colossalcon DAY 1

Well I woke up about 7:55am, way too early, btw. I managed to pack up the car and all that without been too far behind schedule (though if I had known my SM button designs in my black tin were still in the house I would have taken some more time to get them before leaving) and then had to stop at Target so I had some snacks though so far I've been rather well fed between half a sandwich, and a couple of snacks and water.

I also finally checked out the dealer's room, Jesse is there, he was wondering if I died cause I haven't seen him since like Otakon last year. I'm sad about that, but we just weren't able to cross paths, I forgot that he was at Az and he sadly didn't do very well because the same thing happen to the dealer's room that happens to Artist Alley. *shakes head* He had some cool stuff, but unless I'm making a lot over what I thought it will have to wait. I try to buy from my dealer friends.

Then I got to Art-Toons, yay for them being able to make it back this year. They have my Yohji cel still and som cute SM stuff. So depending on what we can work out I want to get a couple of things from them. I also want to say Weiss fans out there that I know, Omi, lots of Omi, one douga of Aya looking down and a couple misc ones. But then they have some nice SM cels, mostly characters I'm not interested in, but they have a couple of douga of Moon and Neptune that look super nice so I might look into those. We'll see.

I'm doing better than I first would have thought for today, but what I'm hearing is that it's slow and also that people stopped buying after awhile. I haven't gotten that yet and hopefully tomorrow will be just as successful as today. *hugs*

I just got information on a "new" con in detroit...The few guests they have on the laminated card are very similar to another con I've been to. *shakes head* No naming names for me.

Today has been me saying hello to all of my usual con faces, Mike the Jew, Dealers, my sis's friend and many people whose names escape me. I'm so bad with those. I have no idea how tonight is going to go. I think I'll decide if I'm staying open late at about 10pm.

Adieu.

2009: June 4th

Almost gone getting ready for this weekend. I have a few more magnets to put together, 7 to be exact which is good. Then there really isn't anything more that I can do to be ready for this weekend. I'm wondering if I should take my TB box with me to see if I will sell. I've had it for months around and no one seems interested/has enough money to get them.

So I was singing with Seiya's single song again "One Sided Love", I can't remember the Japanese off the top of my head. I wonder if it is possible to find it around somewhere without breaking my almost nonexistant again pocket book. 3 big reasons why I would like to get it sometime before May next year: 1/for the Karaoke version, it isn't on the Memorial Song Box and I refuse to sing over her beautiful voice. 2/Seiya...hello! 3/add to my CD single collection in general. I'm at 4 now. *grins* If anyone could point me in the right direction, that would be fantastic. I would like to get all three, but when it comes down to it, right now his alone would be best and I couldn't fees-ably pay more than $50 total for it. I'm going to look around ebay, but other than that I don't know where to look, they didn't have that one at the site I got my LD box set and the other 2 big sites I check out don't have it either.

2009: June 3rd x2

I couldn't wait to post again. Let's just say it's been a slow day and I've actually found lots of random to talk about.

Example: Cannonball Run II is on CMT right now and I don't think I've ever seen it before but now I want to get it. It's old movie goodness. And it has a bunch of actors I grew up on. I had a feeling it was made of win when I cam across it for $3, big lots does this thing where they have really bad movies next to good ones and only those that avid movie fans can tell the difference. OMFG Jackie Chan is in this movie!!!

I pretty much finished my packing for this weekend. We'll see how that goes, even packing light I seem to always have a lot of stuff. It will be nice to cosplay again though, this will be the first time in a very long time that I've cosplayed outside of Az. I really don't know what to expect, too many factors to tell.

Oh and one last thing that I really wanted to include. I added a banner to this blog and the sailormoonforward one. It took awhile but I really like how they came out. Sort of added a person touch to my page.

2009: May 30th x2

Yes, I thought I would update again. Sometimes one is just in the mood to chat. I think I'll chat about the little two day show they are calling a con at my local college. It was weird to see how they set it up, but it wasn't really bad for what they said it would be. I was surprised to see as many people in cosplay, especially the SM cosplay. I should have gone as Seiya, but then again are those SM fans hardcore enough to have seen Stars? I was impressed with the Usagi, her wig besides being the eye-searing yellow was nicely styled.

My two friends and I went wandering around, House of Anime was there, it was almost awkward because I didn't think they did small cons anymore. Palace didn't even show up, which actually doesn't surprise me. I wanted to see hi to Wade though. There were almost no shitajiki which surprised me, but since most of the dealers had DVDs and figures I guess I really shouldn't have been. At least I was pleased I only saw one SM knockoff wallscroll. All the other SM stuff was either Japanese or N.A. I picked up a vol1 Stars by Tokyopop, they wanted $5 so I was like yes yes, I wish they had had vol2 because then I would have been done with the Eng since I don't really care what Tokyopop did. And I got a semi flat Venus (I have a Moon and I think a Jupiter, not actually sure about that one now). I did see a Beauty Change Mars, her face was much prettier than I thought, I wasn't impressed with the fuku, the bow was made of felt @___@. He wanted $75 for it and I'm like not for Mars...maybe one of the others. It was nice to say I've see one in person though.

I picked up a couple other random things, 2 pin set from Gankutsuou, 1-3 of tactics for oober cheap and vol6 of Saint Seiya anime which has me caught up through 8, I was like OMFG you have the vol I'm missing! And DVDs under $10 is always a plus.

Saw the "maid cafe" which honestly was a cute idea, but horribly done. I did take a photo of Moon, Mercury and Mars cosplaying as maids, but they didn't even have meal food only snacks. Hardly a cafe. *shakes head* The doll meet up was small but still enjoyable, I felt bad for my one friend who isn't into bjds at all. I do my best to keep her away from them because I don't want her to be bothered by them anymore than she already is. It was nice to see the few other ones that showed up, I got to see a souldoll up close, she wasn't one of the ones I was interested in, but the chin problem isn't as bad as one might have thought previously.

All in all for being something new it wasn't bad, but far from amazing. Maybe it will start to gain some speed in a few years. Besides the dealer's there wasn't much to do, I don't go to cons anymore to watch anime or anything like that and I don't even think they had any panels though they might have.
